This report synthesises the main research findings of a research programme carried out by the European SELMA project to understand the online hate speech phenomenon (2019). The research comprises three interrelated components: a literature review, a series of qualitative focus groups and an online quantitative survey. Together they provide a theoretical and empirical backbone for the education and awareness-rising activities carried out as part of the SELMA project. The SELMA project is funded by the European Union’s Rights, Equality and Citizenship Programme (2014-2020). |
