The National Museum of African American Music’s From Nothing to Something curriculum seeks to highlight the impact of African American culture on the landscape of American music. A few online lessons focus on the banjo and spoons (USA 2021).

The history, traditions, and influence of both instruments are divided between three lesson plans (with six units available in total).
